Introduction to missions
Missions in the DQC Platform are collaborative initiatives designed to continuously improve data quality in a structured and goal-oriented way. They help teams focus their efforts on the most critical datasets and involve the right participants to resolve data issues efficiently.
Why use missions?
Missions are ideal for datasets that are:
Business-critical
Frequently used in decision-making
Known to contain significant data issues
They are typically aligned with specific objectives such as:
“Increase data quality score by 20%”
“Prepare for the product launch by fixing missing fields in key records”
Each mission is based on a tailored ruleset for a table, ensuring the scope is focused and results are measurable.
How missions work
Data quality issues are grouped into task packets
Participants are assigned issues based on their role or expertise
AI-generated fix suggestions are provided where possible
Users confirm, reject, or manually correct issues
All progress is tracked and visible to mission owners
Continuous engagement
Missions are not one-time efforts—they’re built to drive long-term improvement. Features include:
Regular issue send-outs to participants
Progress tracking via dashboards
Gamification options like points and leaderboards to motivate users
Notes
Missions are set up from the Missions tab in the DQC Platform
